TEAM ACCESS

Who should actually see client images

7 min read · Published January 2026

Role-based and assignment-based access is the difference between a studio that can explain its safeguards and one that hopes for the best.

Membership is not permission

Being on the team should not grant access to every client archive. Access should follow assignment to specific work.

Time-limited access for contractors

Retouchers and vendors need what the job requires, for as long as the job lasts. Expiry should be built into the access rather than remembered afterwards.

Be able to show what happened

If a client asks who viewed their images, a studio should be able to answer. Recorded access is what makes that possible.
